Refurbished here means the hardware is used, but has been completely checked, tested and the OS version has been upgraded to an up-to-date version.
Specifications
The Foundry MG8 is a CAM Cache based BGP4 router which was designed and build for carrier class redundancy and wirespeed handling under normal circumstances (normal flows). The router has proved itself in many provider networks and is considered very stable. It can be equipped with multiple redundant (N+M, total up to 6) power supplies and dual management blades for redudancy.
Interfaces
The BigIron is primarily aimed at 10 Gbit/s fiber connections (up to 32) on Xenpac's. As the router is chassis-based, it can easily be equipped with additional interfaces by simply inserting additional hot-swappable interface blades.
Chipset
All offered equipment is based on the TeraThon ASIC chipset (which supersedes IronCore and JetCore chipsets). The same hardware can be used as router, but also as switch.

Conditions
Delivery time
The delivery time (other then under a hardware replacement contract) is (if all parts are in stock) generally max 10 working days.
Guarantee
All equipment is delivered with a three months hardware guarantee. With the hardware no guarantee or support is provided on the OS (firmware). It is possible to get a official software support contract for refurbished Foundry hardware directly from Foundry resellers.
Excluding transport
To keep costs low, pricing (other then under a hardware replacement service) is based on customer-pickup from the Open Peering NOC in The Hague or customer-payed courier-pickup.
